In the workshop, we have played a game which asks us to grab five coins form a bag randomly for several times. Different coins have different colors, and they worth different points. During the game, I was in the square group which stands for the group having the highest points. While there are triangle group which has medial points and circle group which has the lowest points. It is common knowledge that different classes have different social-economic status, which means that the income, education and living conditions are various for different classes. This leads to the diverse living habits and patterns of consumption. For example, the healthy eating habit and balanced diet are often the choice of upper class, because they do not need to worry about the price, and they are educated to stay healthy. By contrast, for people in low social-economic status, they prefer buying convenient and cheap food, such as soft drink, junk food and fast food, which is generally harmful for human body (Hupkens, Knibbe, & Drop, 2000). Class also plays a vital part in the fatality rates caused by working condition. According to Germov (2014), in Australia, there are a great number of researches founded the strong link between the working class and the poor health status. These researches show that for people in low social-economic status, they tend to do manual and sedentary work, and likely to have bad habits, such as smoking and drinking problems. Class could refers to the social model, because the social model focuses on the external elements, such as the working condition, living habits, and chances of getting health services. All of these elements are the consequences and embodiment of different levels of classes. Similarly, gender belongs to the biomedical model. Both of them are influenced by the gene and other congenital factors, which has their own features. While gender also have the influences of social model, due to the different working conditions for men and women.
