The automobile changed many things in 1920s. It drastically changed life of Americans. One of the people acknowledged for this innovation of the automobile was Henry Ford. F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway were one of the most popular writers of this time .” The Great Gatsby “ by F. Scott Fitzgerald still today remains one America's classics . Reading was a main recreational activity during this time unlike today we have phones , internet a fast access to almost anything . Then , if you wanted wanted to know something find out information it was accessed through book , another person , newspaper or magazine. Magazines had a huge impact especially on women , it kept the reader entertained with short illustrated stories, in addition the influence on fashion & cooking . Also , In newspapers you can learn what else is going on in the world and not just your local area this began to open people's eyes and have their own voice on how things should be and/or go . Ernest Hemingway was a primary source of WW1 he witnessed the horrors and wrote about them in short stories . Hemingway lived an adventurous life and for most his stories dealt with the theme of courage , struggle and/or loss . Some of his more popular books are called “ The Sun Also Rises “ published Oct .22 , 1926 , A Farewell to Arms published 1929 and “For Whom Bell Tolls “ published in 1940 . These books were ways to let not just American people to know what was happening during the war but all around the world and hopefully do something about it .
