Heroes Journey
Twenty-two-year-old Singer/Songwriter August Alsina was destined to be a great role model. At a young age, he went through more than most people go through in a lifetime. This forced him to become a strong, independent and successful person. When he was young, he was exposed to drugs, streets, and gang violence. His biological father and stepfather were crack addicts. His mother was determined to remove him from that atmosphere. They relocated to Houston, Texas. After being there, he was exposed to more opportunity and a better chance for success. Not long after, August was informed that his father had passed away from drugs. August used music to comfort his soul and separate him from everything else in the world that had a negative impact on him.
He had big dreams and so much hidden talent. Artist such as Lauren Hill, Musiq Soulchild, & Lyfe Jennings inspired him to take his singing to the next level. August soon began posting his videos on you tube to share his musical talents to the world. With millions of views, August was becoming more serious about his music. However, after his best friend was shot and killed he was under a lot of tension. Not long after his mother kicked him out of the house. At age 16, he returned home to New Orleans with no role model or adult there to guide him. August fell back into the streets. His older brother Melvin LaBranch III was hustling as well. They were just trying to survive in this world alone. They sold drugs to make a living, however, this didn't work out too well. His brother Melvin was shot and killed. This was tragic and heart breaking, but his brother's death was the turning point for August. His event was his inspiration to stay off the streets and become extremely focused on his music.
Augusts' unique voice caught the attention of NNTME MuCo. Once signed with noontime August moved to Atlanta, Georgia. With August becoming the next big thing and living his biggest dreams who knows where he'll end up five years from

The story of "Night at the Museum", produced in 2006, is often portrayed as just a comedic movie, but in reality, it's a heroic tale of preserving the powers of an Egyptian tablet that lets the beings within the museum come to life at night. This story is a supernatural take, because things happen in this movie that are impossible to occur in the real world. The plot of the story revolves around a man named Larry Daley, a part time night guard for the New York City Museum, and every night he must make sure everything in the museum that came to life is out back to its original position and everything is as it was the day before. I will explain how this movie identifies with The Hero's Journey chart and how it relates within the departure, the initiation, and the return of the hero's journey.…

Although there are quite a few skeptics who believe ghosts do not exist, those who do may wonder what the earth is like to such trapped souls. In Neal Shusterman’s The Skinjacker Trilogy he answers the question of what the ghost world may be like, but with an imaginative drive, and this limbo between life and “where one goes after death” is limited. This is a breakdown of key concepts in the limbo; the “realm” is called Everlost, and only children and teens can cross into it. In Everlost, souls are called Afterlights, and some may have certain abilities depending on the strength and the will of his or her spirit or the condition in which he or she had been when crossing into Everlost. In Everlost, the living world is not only a blur, but can…

Michael was quickly thrust into the spotlight when joining his brothers in creating the group The Jackson 5 (1). Growing up in the small town of Gary, Indiana, where he went to school until the age of 11 where he was later tutored by a private tutor. With such talents the young Jackson showed with his high leading vocals and new dance moves, the group soon became known around the United States. The Jackson 5 had become such a popular interest, that from 2971 to 1972 they had their own self titled cartoon show (4). Having many hit singles in the band, it is clear to see as to why Michael began tampering around the idea of a solo career, soon after making that dream come true without even having to quit the five brother band The Jackson Five (or Jacksons)…

His parents were very much into music, his father's day job was a cable man, but he also played the drums and actually played for Bob Marley a few times. He used to have dreadlocks, but he cut them off because, "now it is just a bunch of Wyclefs running around with them." His mother was a seamstress and made many of Bob Marley's shirts. This early introduction to music got Mugi extremely involved into music as well. When he was a teenager in Long Beach he was in many different bands. I was in fact especially excited because one of my favorite bands, Sublime, is out of Long Beach and Mugi knew them and had played with them before the lead singer died.…

The sun was casting a dying red light over the court yard, as the shadows partly eclipsed the sun. The view from the enclosed cell chamber was tormenting him as it cruelly made him reminisce about that one, painful time he was forced to remember eternally. The walls beyond the prison gates showed stretches of dry barren land with blistering weather all year round. The barren empty earth extended far into the horizon. His head hung dejectedly, he closed his eyes slowly, inhaling the cold, lifeless air with dissatisfaction. The next day, Ralph was summoned to administration to peruse the dashboard, sift through hundreds of names of trapped souls and read his timetable for the following week. Disinterested, Ralph briefly skimmed through the outline, before his attention became focused on a small sparrow in the courtyard, chirping merrily as it hopped along the pavement. A loud clamor from one of the nearby cells awoke him from his stupor and he quickly returned to the schedule. One of the phrases caught his attention. “Therapeutic painting, Tuesday, 2-4:30”, it read. Ralph lead out a muffled groan. It was bad enough that he had many hours of counseling where he’d be compelled to learn ways to forgive and forget his remorseful past. It was all complete rubbish. And now painting? Painting was a venture he never had any experience with, and a concept that he actually found to be repulsive and boring. His admittance to his fear of painting to his counselor was denied by him. His counselor suggested him to expose himself and face the course that was in front of him, as it could possibly lead to something greater. With no further say Ralph unhappily obliged. Later that day, as Ralph was looking for his new paint class, he heard a distinct deplore of an argument taking place at the end of the hall way in which he was walking down. He couldn’t help but hear the accusations a man had been alleged of doing and followed by continuous…
