For this assignment I was asked to research two companies in different industries. One is a local mattress manufacturer and the second a hospitality management company. For this analysis I have focus on researching the market and intervening top employees of the company.
The local mattress factory is called Natural Dreams, is base in Corona Queens NY. It operates with 8 employees and has over 12 regular customers. Right now they focus on selling to just furniture stores base in queens and have a b to b business model. The company has it’s biggest portfolio in New York City with more than 25 hotels. Hersha focus on managing the hotels and it’s operations well the ownership just received the outcome of the operations.
Hersha Hospitality has established itself as a leading hospitality management in NYC. Well many companies struggle in the hospitality industry, HHM has become a wining corporation. This winning reputation has been acquired thanks to the sense of intrapreneurship and innovation strategy. Moreover the leaders in the corporation implement programs to motivate the innovation with in mid managers. According to a past employee managers are well rewarded when an original idea help the company become more profitable.
Hersha Hospitality Management has its roots from a humble beginning of a family managing a small hotel in Illinois. Now the same strategies that they used to grow do not work the same way because time and size have change tremendously since then. Whether or not Airbnb’s gamble on Trips succeeds or fails, the mere fact that the company has launched tours and activities should be a clear signal to hotels that they too need to be paying more attention to guests’ experiences not just inside the hotel but outside of it.
