Some causes of high blood pressure are simply just old age, diet, lack of physical activity, smoking, genetics and many others. The lack of physical activity can cause someone to be overweight, which is a direct cause of high blood pressure, so getting enough exercise for your age and gender is very important to preventing heart issues. Smoking is a very large component to high blood pressure because of the very toxic chemicals the smoker inhales into the body. Although quitting smoking is a very tough thing to do, it can very well prevent the occurrence of high blood pressure.
