My junior English teacher, Mrs. Doherty, was different compared to other teachers that I had. She was more interested in the process of learning rather than the final result. She would have us go step by step with our drafts, working on them in class for each paragraph. We had peer teaching exercises that allowed everyone to get involved and learn about their essay while aiding each other with their papers. Mrs. Doherty’s class helped me to learn how to accomplice problems at my own pace. For my senior year, I was fortunate to have Mrs. Doherty again. I had Global Mythology and Senior Writing Seminar with her. It helped me to learn more about who I was religiously and as a person. During Senior Writing Seminar, the second semester of the school year, we learned more about our identities and we were able to study what we were interested in.
