How To Write An Essay About My Experience In High School
When I look back at my High School experience senior year was astounding, mainly due to my distinctive institution. I had the opportunity to partake on the football team, track & field team and was a honor student. Another benefit from my alma mater was the diversity of the institution and large number of students (2000 students). In my opinion Wilson Senior High School was the best DC Public School with high test scores and extracurricular activities for everyone. Ever since I was the Defensive Captain of the football team every little thing I did was noticed. With the coaches working in our school, we were constantly supervised and had certain privileges other students didn’t. Before every big game I wanted to relax and focus on the game ahead, but the entire school wanted to talk to you and ask questions about what you’re going to do. In a way I enjoyed this, the pressure to step up to the plate made me feel like I had a purpose for the school. I believed in myself and knew I was capable of meeting their expectations. Their satisfaction didn’t satisfy me in anyway but seeing my hard work and dedication pay off did. I cherished the moments when the announcer would scream my number on the field after a big play. These moments were immaculate in my eyes especially in front of the big crowds. One of the tragic incidents of my …show more content…

I cherished these dates with my friends who were with me at all witty events. Never again will I be able to appreciate these times on the grounds a before for everyone goes separate ways after high

This is my last year of high school and I’m the first one to graduate from my family. I’m lost, I wish people could help me out and tried to guide me in the direction of the right decision but is my life and choices. The last time I remember something as huge as starting in high school was having to move to Oregon from Alaska, but for better or for worse, here I am, attempting to make my mark on this big blue Earth. However, Highschool was never always just peaches, cream, rainbows and unicorns. If I’m to be one hundred percent honest here, I was legitimately terrified of it, whether it be the totally reasonable fear of being stuffed into a locker by a bully or getting lost in a labyrinth of corridors and passages of infinite classes and broom closets. But those fears never truly emerged up until the final days of freedom that remained from my graduation of 8th grade. As the days drew nearer, so did my fear reaching the brim of a breakdown. I was scared,…

High school is tough. To a sixteen year old, your entire existence depends on your social status and what clique you roll with. And like in every high school movie ever made, bullies prey on kids who they feel are different than them. It’s hard to pop your head out of that bubble to see what is actually happening around you.…

The team got together the next week for the yearly season ending party. I walked into my coaches house with guilt still hanging on my shoulders. To my surprise though, no one seemed to be mad at me, even when I had lost us the game, and they had to be upset about not winning the championship title. When our captain had started to organize teams for a little kick-around session, I realized why no one was disappointed at me, or in general for that matter. It was possibly the pressure of winning or the excitement that I might finally live up to my sister’s standards, but somewhere along the way I had forgotten why my teammates and I played soccer in the first place. Although it would have been great, it wasn’t to gain a tournament title or win the game. It was because we all shared the love of the game. I didn’t need to receive a trophy or even come out with an underdog win to have fun playing soccer with some of my closest friends, but apparently I needed to freeze up to remember…

From a young age we’re asked what we want to be when we grow up, never how we expect to become when we grow up. I was well aware of what I wanted to become, but not sure how to get there until I started high school when my counselor explained to me the importance of having a full portfolio with a wide range of extracurricular activities. Then it became clear to me, I needed extracurricular activities to become who I wished to be. Throughout my high school career I’ve participated in several extracurricular actives such as math club, soccer and UIL One Act. In the future, I want to participate in these activities or anything similar to those I participated in high school.…

The upperclassmen never treated me differently than anyone who had been on the team for multiple years. Secondly, they showed me the power of friendship. One of the terms Coach Stern uses quite frequently is family. By helping me learn the defensive system, to making sure I was mentally healthy, there was never a doubt in my mind my teammates cared about my well being and aspirations. When most people think about family, they think about their extended family with whom they grew up, but through playing football, I have redefined what family truly means. Family is a group of people who persevere through difficulties, help each other succeed to their highest capabilities, and support each other continuously. Even though I have only been a part of the football family for 5 weeks, I feel as if I am a part of a family who meets and exceeds every example of what a family is. My time as part of this football team has been incredible and I am so happy I came to St. Olaf. It would be selfish of me not to acknowledge that if it wasn’t for the opening arms of the football family, I would surely be questioning my decision to come to…
