High School Football Speeches

“Those guys are my brothers so I love being around them,” senior quarterback Mike Dean said, “I feel they have let me into Vero Beach High School and have made me a part of the community.” The circumstance of being homeschooled besides attending for a 7th period class has never held back Dean, a captain of the varsity football team. “I fell in love with football and decided to transfer to Vero and my interest in football took off from there,” Dean said. Dean, being one of the captains is proud of the team for setting a record of winning 27 district games over the years. “They look to me because I’m the quarterback but I feel like I’m a leader not just to the offense but the team,” Dean said, “I think everybody looks
to me and respects me and I try to lead by example.” Dean is optimistic about the future of the team, that has worked and supported him throughout his football years and his time being homeschooled. “Those guys are awesome and they really have welcomed me as one of their own,” Dean said.
