This could generate more business men and women to come after work to see the game. It will be a lot cheaper for them to give tickets to their employees for some reason or taking a client to a game for some beer and food. Since they aren't really advertising their players and games they're not getting the attention they need for the sport. So with the big company to sponsor it might generate other businesses to do the same thing.…

Schools today are in dire need of funding. Government budgets cut far too much from allowances for the educational system, which in turn is unable to provide the highest quality service to young students looking to gain the skills necessary to be successful. As a result of this lack of appropriations, many have looked to other places to find money so that children may receive a better education. One of these places is from corporate donors who would award sums of money in exchange for special advertising space within schools. While some may argue that the corporate sponsorship and advertising in schools may be beneficial to the schools, it is ultimately an unhealthy and would for the most part negatively affect the minds of students who are there to be taught important skills and not be influenced by outside conglomerates…

Many of the students enrolled in our independent study charter school come from a low socioeconomic background and are academic underperformers, especially in mathematics. Most students lack the time and resources to be able to attend school multiple days a week or to spend extra time working with their teachers to improve their lagging mathematics scores. At the same time, many teachers are asked to deliver classroom instruction on mathematics topics that they likely have no specific training or credential in. In addition, these teachers often only have a very limited amount of time to work with each individual student before they must move onto the next. These obstacles make it more difficult for these students to complete the required course load.…

Corporate entities are everywhere in today’s society. People see them on television, on the internet, on their way to work, and on their way to school. Advertisements invade individuals’ lives almost everywhere, but schools have been a safe haven from this – at least they were. Some schools have elected to take sponsorships or other advertisements to increase school revenue. However, some of these ads inhibit the activities of students in their learning environment. Some of the sponsored items include actual lesson plans, which could be propaganda instead of actual learning material. Schools should not be sponsored by corporations, since they create propaganda, distract from proper education, and waste students’ learning time.…

In the last few years our nation has been faced with enormous budget constraints. Nearly every state has either reduced education funding or has maintained funding at a certain level due to the economic downturn of the nation. School districts have needed to find ways to do more with less, especially in the Sunnyside Unified School District. Most of the funding in our district goes toward technology. Although technology is a big part of our 21st Century goals, over funding for one area has been detrimental for our athletic programs. This poses a problem because athletics can be an incentive for students and can encourage them to keep up academically to stay eligible to play. Another important aspect of sports is that it teaches valuable life skills such as adversity, teamwork, integrity, honesty, and responsibility. Sports also build school spirit for both athletes and non-athletes. For these reasons it is important that we keep high school athletics going for students and schools. To improve athletic funding, as an administrator reaching out to local businesses, implementing fundraising campaigns, and organizing booster clubs would be best to financially support the athletic programs at the school.…

We are by no means a rich school; we rely on extra funds to make sure students here receive a acute education. “The proponents of advertising in the schools argue that it is necessary to prevent further cutbacks,” which means that as a result of having Coke-A-Cola products in our school, we have a chance to earn money to put into our school’s funds (Schlosser 52). This can help with supplying new textbooks to classes that need them, such as our Calculus class needed them for the 2017-2018 school year, or supplying teachers with other needed supplies. In reality, corporate advertising helps further our student’s…

Research shows that there is a better retention rate from year-round schooling, along with better academic performance, and lower dropout rates (there is a 2% dropout rate for year-round schools, while the traditional has a 5% dropout rate). In year-round educational plans, the school is set on a school plan and track. The plan determines the number of consecutive days students attend school and also dictates the break schedule. The track determines which students are present in the school at a given time. As of 2011–12, an estimated 3,700 schools across the United States, accounting for about 4 percent of all public schools, held classes on a year-round school calendar, according to data from the National Center for Education Statistics. Year-round…

Although some say college sports are too pampered by their University, the sports teams generate vast amounts of profit for their respective colleges and help to attract attention to the university. The NCAA alone creates around $871 million in revenue annually. While this may be nowhere near the whopping $87 billion they make from the tuition of students, the sports teams bring something more to the college, the idea of a fun and celebratory college life is lost without a sports team.…

Though paying for other sports is a big setback to paying college football & basketball athletes another problem is posed when people bring up the beloved term "student-athletes." The kids that are heavily recruited are usually in bad situations and this is their way to get out of that but being a "student-athlete" or "amateur" bars them from any sort of economic advancement. Roughly twenty percent of the athletes graduate with degrees before their football careers are over, and all they are left with is the ability to say they played college football. Most of the kids are there for football anyways so the time needed to be successful as they'd like in school is scarce. "No, I don't think college athletes are given enough time to really take…
