Humans will always possess the ability of judgment, which can escalate into racism, chauvinism, and overall intolerance. Despite this harsh reality, humans, as the dominant species, have the ability to identify and practice morals, principles, and ethics. And this is a lesson I feel all young people need to understand; regardless of how volatile and cruel life can be, we must remember the importance of decency. Even if it does not directly benefit ourselves, we all must be bound to one common goal; to not shy away in the face of abuse or wrongdoing. This is not anything new, we have been taught these same concepts since grade school. If you see someone being bullied, you help in the most effective way possible, even if you are not involved. The Holocaust was an example of blatant discrimination and brutality being exercised against many defenseless people. This largescale persecution taught me about justice and the importance of instilling virtues such as bravery, courage, and altruism.
