High school should be the time of your life. You should take the classes that you want and spend as much time with your friends. However, there are some high schools that don't provide as many opportunities as other schools contain. Some do not have the kind of money to even take care of the students and some don't even have enough books to educate them. I have had the privilege to learn in an environment that contains enough books and supplies for all of the students attending the schools. There were many classes that were open to me and one specific one that touched me the most was Spanish.…

I see high school as deeper work, more responsibility, and more homework. The teachers are a lot harder on you. In high school, you get more freedom than in middle school because you’re older. There is harder work because the standards are higher. There is more responsibility because the teachers think you can do it and you have to keep up with more books and stuff.…

Starting high school was a terrifying idea to me. Different teachers, class times, lockers, drama! I remember that I always looked up to my older sister while she was in high school. She had tons of friends, played sports, participated in student government, and went out for the school play. I wanted to be just like her when I started high school. In middle school, I lined myself up for this, I played soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. I helped out in the school plays, and I joined the student government. I had a group of great friends, and thought nothing bad was going to happen.…

The transition is not easy but needs to be taken seriously. Focus on grades but do not let them control your life. High school was my time to stop fooling around. The first day of high school, I awoke to the aroma of coffee brewing on the stove. As I get ready to head out my sister approached me, and told me “Education is the key that opens the door many possibilities you can be and do in your near future” I was so nervous the sweat started dripping from my palms, and I suddenly felt 15 degrees hotter. I was nervous, I knew this is the time to get serious. Immediately a thought came across “ how well I do these four years can affect my entire life”. At first high school might look like a time to have fun and have no worries, which was my initial thought. Later on you start to realize that you need work hard. I thought “How would my future look? I don’t want to end up hopelessly. I want to make something of myself. Sometimes it can be hard though. I just have to work through the pain. At this point it’s make it or break it, success is my only…

High school is a different experience for everyone. The first three years really blend together and do not seem important, but senior year is completely different. Freshman year was full of confusion, learning an array of new things. Sophomore year was where life started to get fun and you “belonged” in the high school. Junior year was where you see the little light at the end of the tunnel, but it was filled with anxiety and frustration. Senior year is where it all becomes worth it and the rest of your life is finally going to begin.…

To any future high school students, my biggest piece of advice would be to leave your comfort zone. Try something new, like joining a sport you always wanted to join but never thought you were good enough for or a club that you’ve never heard of, because these new experiences will help you discover what your interests are and help you in your future. Having more work in high school is a big difference compared to Junior High. I do hate the amount of imperative work that I’m faced with now, but I am however able to finish it. Some of the work that I do is something not even related to the subject we are learning about which is deplorable. Since there are more classes in High school than Junior High, that means you would have to finish more school/homework in your classes. However, you can also be successful by doing this amount of work. The more work you do, the better you get in your learning skills and being reputable for the hard work you do. The amount of work you do also affects what you learn and do in school, which is important to be successful. Overall, you would be successful in high school by doing the extra work you get.…

Firstly, high school is a good way to learn certain habits that lead to success in the adult world. One great habit commonly learned in high school is time management. Getting their "free" time under control now will help prepare students for managing those extra hours come freshman year of college, when they'll need to study and want to socialize more than ever. Using a daily planner is a good way to help achieve this control. Another important skill to learn is how to set goals, as long as they're attainable. Setting goals that are unreasonably high is a set-up for failure. A third life skill high school teaches is organization. Keeping yourself organized will save you valuable time and allow you to do everything that needs to be done. These are some of the “right” things that high school does.…
