This nation today is focused on being liked by others and the status quo of others. In order for someone to like another, they have to have respect for them. In order for someone to have an opinion about someone, it takes a strong person to have respect for the other’s opinion. The nation we live in today has lost respect for one another’s rights. If everyone had respect for others there would not be as many wars or terrorist attacks. Notice I said, “not be as many”. We, as humans and as people of earth, will never reach a state of peace. I believe this because there are too many opinionated people with big personalities that will always want a voice and will do whatever they can to get it. These people have respect for themselves and their beliefs. For example, Donald Trump, he has been wanting a voice in politics for a very long time, so he decided to run for president. He does not have any respect for the Republican establishment because he does not care if he offends them. He has lost the majority of respect of the black community, Muslim community, and LGBTQ community of America. Hillary Clinton has lied on numerous occasions her stand in the Benghazi and US war. She has lost the respect of those deceased soldiers’ families.
