If it hurts someones’ feelings then they should shake it off and get over themselves. Free speech is not only important to the United States, but all around the world. Take Russia for example, members from Pussy Riot—a Russian punk rock band— were arrested and sentenced to prison for hooliganism or violent acts towards President Vladimir Putin’s policies in a Moscow church. They were simply doing what they thought was right. Anyone and everyone will stand up for what they believe in, and their actions led to limitations on what people could say or post. Which is wrong because everyone should have a right to say how they feel, to express themselves even if it hurt someones feelings. For example, November of 2016 Donald Trump had sent a Tweet stating, “[n]obody should be allowed to burn the American flag - if they do, there must be consequences - perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail” (Levy)! I understand he loves American and respects America’s history but everyone is not going to be like him; everyone will have their own thoughts on things because everyone is different and we should respect those differences. If someone doesn’t like America then fine, let them not like us. Free speech should trump all and people should get over
