Webster's position touches upon the very topic on what they expect from us as humans.
Know as the years go on they are taking away peoples rights to view certain things because they may not like what has been said or done. In schools they do the same thing as people with higher powers. What gives them the right to take away our opportunity to view certain things. Such as the presidential election more and more news reports are being blocked and censored because people don't necessarily like the opinion of the writer. However, that option of whether or not someone should view what has been written or taped shouldn't be the decided by someone else. The decision to view media, news, or videos should be the choice of their own
person.
I Agree with Webster's position because the internet has become the central communications for everything in this century. However, the Government thinks that because they have the ability to access what we look at they can block us off from certain things we wish to see. The Government is strong and has power however you would think that because they work for us they would use that power that they were given for good. However, the power they posses is abused between the whole government. Just because they make the executive decisions doesn't give them the right to restrict us from what we can and can not view and watch. The way the treat internet censorship is atrocious because they provide no respect towards it what soever. As of right now we have it good in our country but the corruption of other governments is serious because they regulate everything they do. As an example the Chinese government restricts the access of the major social networks and media we have here in the United States.
Its not fair for all teenagers and children to be punish for other peoples actions. Some teens tend to have an inappropriate mind sets because that's what they here around outside and in school. But you can not restrict the world because of what other people decided to do. No matter how old you are we tend to think the worst of all situations and bring them to the extreme causing other people to make it more serious than its supposed to be. They use the term internet censorship to the extreme by blocking off websites that they may not like because they find it offensive but by taking that away it violates everyone's first amendment rights by freedom of speech. We are allowed to speak our mind due to those right guaranteed by the constitution. Especially, in school because many schools restrict the access of certain websites that could potentially be used for research but they choose not to allow us to access those websites. Along with the restriction of what we can or cannot say on social media. They do not have the right to prevent us from expressing our feelings as long as it doesn't make threats to anybody. We as humans have the right to speak our minds.
As a citizen currently living in the United States we are free to speak as we will and do as we please. Which many citizens take for granted and use it as a way to be destructive based on what they see. However, we shouldn't be punished for other peoples childish acts. Looking back on what we have i have grown to respect the type of government that we have been presented with. In other countries they are told what to do and when to do it. They don't have the luxuries to speak there mind and make a difference. That's what our country is all about, equality for all and the right to make decisions. We often take for granted the type of freedom we have on the internet. Our government could easily censor certain things on the internet as fast as they gave it to us. From my experience of meeting new people and hearing stories from different countries they don't have that “free will” to look at the news.
In our country we have recently elected a new president and the country isn't happy with the decision. In recent light they have decided to post different articles on the subject. However, it affected many people because they may or may not have agreed with the topic being discussed. So with the power they posses they have restricted what can be said about the topic. We as people have the right to express how we feel and it shouldn't be censored because it may be too mature or vulgar. That is life and in person there are much worse things happening. So our way to tell how we are feeling shouldn't be restricted based on how people think other people will react. If your old enough to understand what is going on than it shouldn't be restricted to you. The government often abuses there power just because they have it.
Internet censorship can be dangerous on all levels especially on a larger scale, but could be very problematic on a smaller scale. But the fact that we have internet censorship is supposed to be a good and beneficial thing to have around to restrict threats and certain images from getting out. Internet censorship was put in place to keep people safe but in recent events its doing more damage to society than good. Many writers and authors have been warning us for years now and we pushed that thought aside and are now realizing it's a problem. By getting rid of certain things led to new and more dangerous problems such as gangs and drug dealers. Just as if country were to ban guns, what is stopping anyone from obtaining them illegally. Exactly, nothing using internet censorship for granted could be a danger to all its supposed to keep people safe but its just the opposite it has led to new and up coming problems.
