Yes it did, American exceptionalism is the idea that America is holds a special place in the world, by offering opportunities and hope for humanity. It is based of off its unique balance of public and private interests governed by constitutional ideals that are focused on personal and economic freedom. And during the great depression they made it so that the role of the government would be used more, or would be a bigger factor. But after World War II American exceptionalism was more like trying to make other countries more like us. So all and all American Exceptionalism has changed or been modified due to the great depression and WWII.
The United States is more reliant to their government than they are to their states. This is because the government has the main control in America. I mean the citizens votes don’t even matter in the presidential votes, the electoral college is what has the major votes for the president.
Why doesn’t the US have a socialist party thus far? Because in a socialist party the which workers and consumers control production and community residents control their neighborhoods, homes and school and the production of society is used for the benefit of all humanity. Since the US government rules over us Americans or the people living in America, the government wants to retain control so they may be able to make some profit. Also socialism means common ownership, so the people and the government share the same technological resources, but that would leave nothing to taxes and the government would break down, well in my thinking.
