Both rivers developed different cultures, religions, and beliefs by increasing interaction between ancient societies. Ancient humans located in the Indus Valley were able to exchange believes and spread religions with the use of the river as also trade things like goods, such as food and supplies. (Doc.1). Rivers were a big part of trading, and trading was the center of their economy. Many of these differences and similarities showed up in the three categories of the technological advances, the types of government, and the geography of the civilization. Two civilizations that are very interesting to delve deeper into and study the contrasting societies are China and Egypt. The cradles of civilizations were river valleys where there are lands around the Tigris River, Euphrates River and the Nile River. These lands were rich with good soil from when the rivers get flooded. When the earliest farmers started farming, the flooding of the valleys did not damage than good. It is only when the earliest farmers learned how to control the flooding and adapt. These three rivers carry water from higher land areas to various parts of the dry areas. The land around the rivers was rich but making it flourish requires water to be transferred to the dry areas. The earliest farmers began finding ways to tame and use the rivers through irrigation ditches. These ditches transferred the water to dry parts of the area to make use of every part of the land. Irrigation with the fertile soil of the Tigris-Euphrates region produced large food supplies which helped raise population growth and society expansion.…
