Poverty around the world is affecting the world in a lot of different ways such as society and malnutrition. according to study in the 1996 …show more content…
United Nations report 5 million people worldwide Bahamas or resided in low quality homes and unsanitary conditions in 1995(cite) . most people have lost their homes / apartments trying to pay for medical bills or because of economic hardship came up in their life. (Cite) People with disabilities struggle to obtain and and maintain stable housing ,they raised the price of one bedroom apartments rent to $715 a month and that's 113.1% of a disabled persons supplement security income which make it harder for people with disabilities to have or to even keep a house because most of the money is going towards the rent and not toward food or other necessities that they might need in life and 30% of the people that were asking for emergency food were employed, they are taking away the food from the one they really needed the homeless people. Society is making the world for them a lot tougher, they're raising the prices on houses or anything or anywhere that they can live and they are giving food to the people that are employed not the people that really need it.
National poverty data is a way to judge economic well-being. Around the world poverty is present 1 billion people living in poverty in 2001 poverty and hunger without a doubt a link so that solving the hunger problem by feeding people without attacking the poverty problem doesn't address the root of probably malnutrition much of the research of poverty children and malnutrition is whosoever and appearances from anthropomorphic. Yet many homeless people eligible for food stamps do not receive them. While public and private agencies provide nutritious food and meals for homeless persons, availability of the services to homeless people is limited. Many homeless people lack appropriate health care, and certain nutrition-related health problems are prevalent among them.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development reported that homelessness dropped by nearly 4 percent from 2012 to 2013, according to HUD’s Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress, released in late November. The report found that 610,000 people were homeless in January 2013. Sixty-five percent were in shelters; the rest were living outdoors, either on the street, in cars, or in tents. The 2013 figure is down 9 percent from 2007. There are approximately 100 million people that are homeless worldwide, according to the united nation commission .According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the number of homeless people living in Washington in 2013 was around 6,865. The capital of the U.S.A has an homeless number high, it's the 17th homeless occupied place in the whole world.
From Africa to the North and Central America and the Caribbean, homelessness is not something new the population all over the world is making it harder overall for homeless people because more people are becoming homeless and that's more people , food ,and shelter. Veterans from the war ,they come back from the war and they're traumatized and they become homeless because all what they have is gone and there head is in another place ,now about 40% of homeless man are veterans from the war. On any given night, 200,000 veterans are homeless. People in the community, look the other way or overall pretend that they don't see the man on the side of the road needing money or food to survive theses days, but when in the next few days the man is gone they are going to worry and think "man I should've helped him " ,right you should've but you turned your back when they needed you the most.
Some of the ways in which homelessness impacts society are the amount of money the tax payers ( a.k.a the community) spend to give these individuals support services and programs in order for the individuals to survive. In most communities they don't give don't give them jobs because of the living situation or even how they look or smell ,they don't let them, get the education that they might need to become not homeless because of how they look but that's all they have. The people in the community sit around take stuff for granted and homeless people sit there and disappear and maybe even die of starvation ,cold injury, cardio respiratory diseases ,tuberculosis, skin
diseases.
The community is made up of people who care and really want to make a change and people who only do it so that they can say that they did it, homeless people are the ones who care more and they would go through a lot to give there last piece even if they wanted, they are the ones who need help in the community but they are the ones who give it needs to be the other way around because they need our help Homeless people go unseen everyday, as passersby ignore their existence on sidewalks, in parks, in subway stations. But perhaps people's most perplexing moment of disregard occurs when homeless people ask them for help. But perhaps people's most perplexing moment of disregard occurs when homeless people ask them for help. How many people do you think lie and say they have nothing just to not give to homeless? People think ,that they’re lazy, that they deserve what they get, they haven’t worked hard, they’re just looking for a handout, and people with these attitudes lack compassion.
So think next time you see a homeless man on the side of the street no he he probably didn't do drug , maybe he was trying to pay bills and just lost his house, maybe he is doable and only makes little and cant afford a house, they all have a story and next time just pray that it wasn't you this time and pray that that person whoever it is gets there life back on track and live the rest of there life to the fullest with love and compassion in there hearts, because you can not judge a book by it's cover.
