Hotel California was the Eagles fifth album and was their best selling album (despite The Eagles Greatest Hits). The album was made on Asylum (a recording company) in late 1976. This is their first album without one of their founding members, Bernie Leadon, and their first album with guitarist and singer Joe Walsh. The songs include, “Hotel California”, “New Kid in Town”, “Life in the Fast Lane”, “Wasted Time”, “Wasted Time (Reprise)”, “Victim of Love”, “Pretty Maids All in a Row”, “Try and Love Again,” “The Last Resort”. The Album had three top twenty singles, which include, “Hotel California”, “New Kid in Town” and “Life in the Fast Lane”. Many times the band had to stop recording because Black Sabbath was being too loud and the sound was leaking through the walls. Also, the band ran into many problems with band member Randy Meisner. He finally left the band after the album was created, because of suffering from stomach ulcers and the flu and was unable to perform “Take it to the Limit “ at the end of the 1977 tour.
