Henry is not looking for something random but a connection to Keiko, a girl who he fell in love with when he was a young kid. Keiko was taken away to a immigration camp during world war II. Henry was very lonely and was trying to go find her.

Then he tells her to keep it at her house so they can listen to it together because he does not have a record player at his house. He can then also meet her parents
