Spring 2015 The Great Journey
We are all fighting to be successful. In May 2009, I received the greatest opportunity of my life, I won a lottery visa which is organized by the United States government. I had the opportunity to spend the rest of my life in the United States. I have always wanted to travel from my country, Benin, to another country and attempt to find a job and live a better life. Now, this door had been opened for me, and I could not wait to travel by plane for the first time in my life.
What a great journey.
I was so happy when I received the letter from the United States government accepting my request to live in America for the rest of my life. It was a lottery visa, a process organized by the US government every year allowing fifty thousand people across the world to live in
America. There are more than two billion people who apply every year, and I was the luckiest guy in the world because I was selected based on my background. Joy, happiness, hope, and blessedness reigned in my family. The process just to qualify for the visa was tough, I found out before even going to the interview I had to know someone who was already living in the US, luckily one of my cousins was already living there. This was a great advantage on my part, He was happy to provide me with the paperwork I needed from him, such as, an affidavit of support and his taxreturn information.
