The Revolution exposed the nation’s tension between commitment to liberty and commitment to slavery which obviously seemed to be incompatible. The Revolution also caused division within the Indian community, making it difficult to come together against the growing power of the white settlers. All of these factors ultimately led to the defeat of the Indian tribes by the white settlers.
