rebellions with their new kind of music “Rock and Roll” with their miniskirts and relaxed fit jeans. The Baby Boomers introduced Social Change, “When conservative attitudes were changing to be more tolerant of people and their differences; without the baby boomers, many laws that protect gays, African Americans, and woman may not exist.” (Mariela, The Impact of Baby Boomers on America Society).
During the era of the baby boomers, they made an immense change in the society they were in before with new music, new clothes and the rise of the population. With the new rise of the population production of goods must go up increasing the sales in the economy. This era was officially the time to set up the “American Dream” (United States History, Baby Boom Generation) the lifestyle that everyone wanted to have while living in the suburbs with a full family always joyful and smiling. During the 50s and the 60s the boomers were the change of the society socially and
economically. Today’s baby boomers are not living the same style as they use to however still seem to have a massive strain on our economy. Year after year, more and more of the Boomers are going to start to retire and leave the generations that came after them to carry on the business world while we make up for what they’re leaving behind. They created liabilities that are going to take time to pay off as well as 40% of our government spending will be going to insurance (Mariela, The Impact of Baby Boomers on American Society). Today the baby boomers are training us on how to continue with our jobs and lives as they begin to leave the workforce and retire. The Boomers will start collecting their social security and health care benefits that we as the younger generations are going to help make sure happen. Of course, the Boomers weren’t all terrible when it comes to how we live now because of them, we now have a high demand for health professionals in every area of health care possible so higher paying jobs. They train us and teach us about our future for when they’re out of the workforce. Even if the Baby Boomers were the “Rebellious” generation they are still important to us and mean something honestly whether we like it or not. The Boomers are possibly either our parents, grandparents, siblings, or maybe even you yourself just depending on the person. Back then they created massive social change and even now create change. They just are a gigantic impact that is going to leave a mark on our world decent or corrupt the Boomers spirit will not be forgotten.
