The people of Germany were not thrilled about the treaty and were instead bitter because they had to accept responsibility for the war. Additionally, they were left with no choice but to pay a fine of $6.6 Billion for the damages that the war caused, reduce their army to 100,000, lose all of their colonies and territories, as well as forbidding them to use air crafts and submarines and only limiting them to six large ships. This harsh punishment didn’t seem like enough to France and Britain; they were angry that the German Kaiser wasn’t put on trial while the Germans were humiliated that they had to take the blame for the entire war. With Germany’s public simmering with anger, it would be an easy way for a leader to insinuate that they should form a fist and aim all of their hate towards another war! The treaty is a great way for Germans to want to rise back to power and so treating them with a firm yet honorable punishment is a fair
