The Greeks had many gods’ whom they worshiped and believed could change and save Greece through their worship. The Romans had incorporated much of this into their religion but they now worshiped ideas whom they made gods and even made temples to them for such things as hope (Morey, 1901). Next they adopted philosophy much like how
Greek everyday life was lived through pondering on the larger topics of life Rome now did the same. This can be seen and compared if we look at the philosophies of the Stoics and Epicureans (Morey, 1901).
One of the greatest likeness which Rome adopted from and allowed to permeate the culture was literature and art. These two combined gave the Roman people a new avenue to write and read as well enjoy art and structures which they in turn used to build great structures and write plays and books (Morey, 1901). Though their attempt to infuse morals like the Greeks had into their civilization it was still crude and not refined in a way which was acceptable then and now.
Finally, we see all that Rome had conquered might have been great victories but the one which they thought they conquered, The Greeks, overtook how they lived, learned, and ran their whole society. In my opinion it was Greece that truly won in the end but it was Rome that grossly twisted that which was refined.
