The air attacks included bombing Polish airfields and at sea the Germans used U-boats and warships to attack the naval forces in Poland. Accordingly, I have placed my death-head formations in readiness—for the present only in the East— with orders to send to death mercilessly and without compassion, men, women, and children of Polish derivation and language. Only thus shall we gain the living space that we need.” Hilter stated this quote the night before the invasion. The invasion became known as part of Hitler's “blitzkrieg” strategy to take over land and expanded Germany rule. Once the Germans invaded Poland, Hilter set up concentration camps based on religion, race, and politics. When Britain and France heard this news of the invasion in Poland, they declared war on September 4th, 1939 because Hilter broke the Munich…

As the Germans advanced, Polish forces withdrew from their forward bases of operation close to the Polish-German border to more established lines of defence to the east. They are expected to work long hours, and are often paid “under the table” in cash so that their employers can pay much lower than minimum wages.
