The German citizens were silent throughout the incidents that occurred during the Holocaust. Many were convinced that Hitler’s message was true and they followed what Hitler said. Other Germans kept themselves silent, knowing that if they spoke up, Hitler would throw them in jail or in the camps. From the intimidation from Hitler as well as the mass number of people following his ideals, the silent majority had set the stage for Hitler.

The places the prisoners slept were overcrowded with hundreds of prisoners inside of each space. Many were unable to clean themselves due to the lack of care. “No privacy and no real sanitation was provided.
