How Did James Build Momentum
A strength that James that he used his body and force to carry himself towards his front leg and when he reached that point, he is forcing the shot-put forward, which is forcing his body backwards. Therefore he had more force when throwing the shot put. By swinging back and forth three times generated good momentum as well before releasing the shot put.
A weakness that James had was a lack of speed going into the movement of flexion into extension of the elbow, which he was losing momentum therefore decreasing the distance he threw. With a faster and smoother transition, more momentum will be generated. The more momentum, the further the shot put will go.
