Johnson was a teacher back in Cotulla, Texas before he ran for president. He made the right choices when it came to him and his students. For example, he showed all those kids that not everyone would treat them the way they've been treated before. At least not for much longer. He cared for those children. Also, he made the students sing the class song every morning, by making them do this he
showed the students that he very kind-hearted and how he wanted to give them the same privileges as the white children. Johnson was always the first to get to the school and the last to leave. He was very dedicated towards all the students. He also started lots of extra school activities for inside and outside of school. All these choices, as you can see, are principle. Which means that he did them because they were the right thing to do.
Although Johnson made most of the right choices for a good cause, that doesn't mean that he didn't make any because they were the popular thing to do. While he was running for president lots of people thought that everyone needed/deserved equal rights. So during this time he thought it was best to fight for equal rights. Now this was the right thing to do but he was doing it for all the people that would love him in return. Johnson was gaining all of people's love for this. So many people supported him for this choice. Fighting for Civil Rights helped in the future get re-elected. I feel that this choice was political.
Johnson made some tough decisions. They always either helped him or the country. Not all the time did he gain something from the choices that he made. His decisions impacted everyone. In the end his choices changed America changed for the best.
