Martin was part of the NAACP, which stands for the National Association for the Advancement of colored people. They fought for the rights of African americans. In 1955, he was recruited to serve as spokesman for the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which was a campaign by the African-American population of Montgomery, Alabama to force the integration of the city’s bus lines “( N.p., n.d. Web. King center,2018)” This first started off when a girl didn’t want to give up her seat to a white male and got arrested and the NAACP got involved and helped her. Then a couple of months after the very popular Rosa Parks didn’t want to give up her seat on the bus because she was tired she just got out of work. She didn't give into it until they called the cops a she got arrested. Because of all of this Martin Luther king Jr had decided to protest, which became the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Even after all the hate on Martin and his family and friends he still fought through it all and with everyone's help them, they took legal action and they won the Brown vs Board of education which was “ separate but equal”.
