His mother Alberta Williams King, was the daughter of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church pastor A. D. Williams, was the wife of Martin Luther King Sr. and the mother of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Trained as a teacher, she was not allowed by local school served as Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. Dr. King described his closeness to his mother in a paper he wrote while at Crozer Seminary. Alberta King was assassinated in the summer of 1974 by Marcus Chenault as she played the organ during a Sunday service at Ebenezer.

father was Sr. Michael King, he was born on December 19, 1899 in Stockbridge, Georgia. Michael King was a religious minister and an figure in the American Civil Rights Movement. In that time period he was the head of the NAACP chapter in Atlanta, civic, and political League. He was the inspiration that made martin luther king jr. to become a active civil rights
