What are difficult to debate are the outcomes of his policies and actions. Napoleons contributions to education and legal reform, military modernization, and diplomacy were his greatest successes, yet they are often overshadowed by his blunders. By invading Spain and Russia, Napoleon doomed his armies and himself by destroying the organization that solidified his hold on power. History has been a harsh critic of Napoleon Bonaparte, but his strategies and policies are still studied to this
