Benvolio tries to change Romeos perspective on love and that he should "find other people". Early in the story Romeo didn’t have a huge part in the story since he always ran away and preferred to be by himself. Benvolio and Mercutio offer Romeo to attend the Capulet party. Even though there Montagues Benvolio and Mercutio convince Romeo to go and the three of them attend the party. At the Capulet party Romeo thought of the words Benvolio said to him before about examining other beauties. Once Romeo placed his eyes on Juliet he instantly fell in love and forgot all things he once loved for Rosaline. At the beginning of the story Romeo felt insecure because Rosaline didn’t find interest in him but when Romeo met Juliet he instantly showed that he was confident by kissing her. The first reaction of Tybalt was to fight to the death with Romeo but Tybalt tells Capulet about Romeo sneaking in and Capulet says to let Romeo be: "Therefore be patient, take no note of him"(I.v.72) and "Show a fair presence and put off these frowns, An ill-beseeming semblance for a feast".(I.v.74). Capulet explains in the first quote to Tybalt he says to not take note of him or pretend he is not there. Capulet decides to let Romeo be because he does not want Tybalt to ruin his party. Later Romeo and Tybalt meet in the streets of Verona were conflict between Mercutio and Tybalt turn into a sword fight. Romeo tried to protect Mercutio since he was Romeos best friend but Tybalt slayed Mercutio. Romeo decided to kill Tybalt since he killed Mercutio and Romeo killed Tybalt: "Either thou or I, or both, must go with him"(III.i.128).
