How Did Spain Led Worldwide Exploration

The two nations leading worldwide exploration are Spain and Portugal. There were many reasons that made Spain and Portugal the forerunners of worldwide exploration. Spain and Portugal, both located off the Iberian Peninsula, had a geographical advantage over other nations. This Peninsula allowed easy access into the Atlantic, which made it much easier to launch expeditions to the Americas. Spain and Portugal both sought out economic growth which led them to seek out new trade routes, leading to resources and new markets to enlarge their power. Both nations had strong military and navies which were capable of conquering and maintaining control of civilizations in the Americas. These reasons led to Spain and Portugal leading the worldwide exploration
The various peoples lived in various regions, such as in the California region where they organized through tribes led by 'chiefs' and leadership moved on through the family. This region had many trade networks, which traded hunted or gathered items. In the California region, the natives gathered acorns and other hunted or gathered items. In other regions such as the 'plains', they subsisted through hunting bison and heard and through agriculture. Similar to the California, these people were typically organized into tribes, led by a chief or council of elders. In the northeast, tribes were also led by a chief or council of elders. Typically these people subsist by being skilled farmers growing crops such as corn, beans and squash. They were also excellent hunters and fishermen. Furthermore, in the plains and northeast region warfare was common, in the plains it was fueled by vengeance, prestige or goods and in the northeast region it was essentially to show dominance and gain power. Overall, the organization and life of the population of the Americas were similar, but the various regions tended to have differing ways of how these tribes
