of Independence was the people of the colonies declaring that they were no longer part of Great Britain, saying that they didn’t want their help or to be under their rule they wanted to be their own country. In the Declaration of Independence, they state some of the reasons why they want to be independent, one of the biggest reasons is, unfair treat and/or unjust treatment. Britain was charging them a ton for everything they sent over the taxes were crazy for the time. Adding on, if they did anything wrong event the tiniest thing they were sent back to Britain for a trial for a crime that may not have even existed or at least something that British citizens wouldn’t have gotten in trouble for. The colonists were being treated incredibly unfairly by Britain and the Declaration of Independence was their way of putting an end to it. The Declaration of Independence was all about being independent from Britain, and the colonist deciding they had had enough and were done being pushed around by the king. They were done paying for every little thing, and someone taking credit for everything they accomplished. Another huge thing they were done with was Britain and the king telling them they couldn’t take over the Native Americans land and start another war, they didn’t want Britain as well as the Natives fighting them. In general, the Declaration of Independence was a way to get out from under an unforgiving king and his family, and be free in a new land, of which they were free to do with what they pleased.
