The archduke Franz Ferdinand was born on December 18th in 1863. He was born in Graz, Austria. In 1900, Franz gave up his children rights to the throne to marry a lady-in-waiting. He started his military career when he was 12. He quickly rose through the ranks. At age 31, he was a Major General. He inherited the throne. His dad died of a typhoid fever.
