The Industrial Revolution was a time when the economy was boosted very quickly and many most were unprepared for the sudden economic change. The lower class workers started to get a higher pay with the rising demand for jobs. Since these jobs were physically enduring jobs, women were paid less, and men were paid more. Working in a factory would be more efficient and removed some very tedious jobs, but created way more jobs which were equally as dangerous as the old jobs replaced by machinery. An example of an industrious job would would be working at an assembly line, which is a job where multiple people work tirelessly to create something that would usually take a very long time if it was done by one person. Women and children were also a big part of the industrial revolution. Before the industrial revolution, women and children were not a big part of work, but when the industrial revolution started to develop, women and children were suddenly needed for the manufacture of goods. This sudden change dramatically increased the speed of the industrial revolution. Without the help of women and children, the industrial revolution would have been much slower. Though there were struggles, boycotts, and ethical issues (5-year-old children working in mills), the work that they have done brought us a world that is more connected than it ever would have been in 150 years. cars, laptops and PCs, TVs, wallets,microphones, glass tables, highways, and phones would never have existed at this time without the revolution.
