Ts´ai Lun wanted to invent paper because he wanted a more lightweight and cheaper sheet. Before they had paper people often used silk on bamboo to write things. But because of the expense of silk and the weight of bamboo, Ts'ai Lun invented paper by using bark off of a mulberry tree in fibers to pound them together to make sheets. Paper could be the best invention because it let people read, write more, and create art. It easily impacted people because people were now able to have cheaper paper to practice reading and writing on. It also impacted people because it was more portable and less heavy to carry around. It also gave people more access to paper because it was cheaper. Paper also impacted now because, without the invention of paper, we would have the things made of paper today. We wouldn't have books, newspapers, and even toilet paper. Without paper, we wouldn´t have the knowledge we have today.
