How Did The Protestant Reformation Impact Society
The Protestant Reformation had a tremendous impact on arts, science, literature, religious beliefs and the modern world. One of the biggest impacts that occurred was on the arts. Protestant artists started to search for inspiration from the world around them, instead of the religious world like before. This is because the religious world began to crumble as we knew it, as secularism and Victorian advances arose. These advances challenged the Protestants faith, especially when the Darwinian evolution appeared. Furthermore, people such as Issac Newton, used their Protestant beliefs for inspiration. Today, many people find the same inspiration from religious beliefs and also use it to aid in scientific discoveries. In the 16th century, Protestants
belief was a powerful forces, that affected their art, science and culture, religion and politics. Additionally, the Protestant Reformation re-shaped religious beliefs and practices, ultimately dividing the Catholics of Europe and Martin Luther's religious reformation started a descent into secularism.
Today, while it may not seem like the Protestant Reformation had any direct affect on modern society, so much of what we consider to be modern, is the direct result of the Protestant Reformation.
