Rome’s origins came from a tribe of Iron Age called Latins who invaded the Italian peninsula. The tribe settle near the Tiber river, which was later to be known as the city of Rome. For a long time, the Etruscan king controlled the Latin’s but were eventually over thrown by them. Overtime it stop becoming a monarchy but turn into a government controlled by the citizens of Rome. All of the literature pieces were written in Latin. Couple of the purposes that were used were entertainment, instruction, and record keeping. The romans used many writings to transmute information all over the west. They were even the first to make geographic and encyclopedia which were very well made. They even mastered poetry, for an example they wrote eclogues which glorify the natural landscape. The roman even entertained their people by making tragic dramas, which model the Greek’s. Most of the roman architecture were used practically. They made greatly made paved roads which were so well made that people still use some of them today. They also made well-made bridges and tunnels which went against natural barriers. The roman empire even made some of the most famous sites to go to like the colosseum. Furthermore, they demonstrated their power and military achievements through beautiful public works. Their art shared many different things with the Greeks.
