He did not produce any copy for the 14th report of the Vestry Committee on 25 March 1871, although still a surveyor in the area, with a Mr Coates. Does this mean it was a mistake or was he beginning to falter somewhat in his work?
Pimlico
In 1874, Wood has a number of addresses around the Pimlico end of Victoria Street. He is entered in Westminster Rate Books for 3 Westminster Pier, Cannon Row, possibly to do with the wharf system and slum clearance there, but now absorbed into the newly built Victoria Embankment. He may have looked into compensation for property demolished. He is given in the electoral roles for 1873 and 1875 with an address (presumably for another property) in up market Bessborough St, Pimlico. Later in 1880, a working address is given as Westminster Chambers, Victoria Street.
