Queen Victoria even influenced some foreign affairs during her reign , expressing her views. One of the major factors that helped Britain avoid European wars was the marriage of Victoria's children because that made her related to the royal houses of almost every major European power except for Spain and France. Even though the English constitution denied her foreign affairs power she ruled her family with an iron fist that helped keep Great Britain away from the wars and European politics.
