How Did Weather And Climate Affect The Mayans
The Mayans had two different types of weather. Therefore there were two different types of climates/ settings. In one part of the Mayan civilization they had a place that was known as the high lands .This was mainly on southern Guatemala .So that the Mayans could make crops here and live they would make terraces.Another place the Mayans civilization were the low lands this was on some parts of Guatemala as well as Beliz, and mexico.Th last place the Mayans lived on were the rainforests these had very dry and humid weather and were found in the lowlands.

In the Mayan society descision making and leadership were commonly made by nobles and kings.Nobles would usually play government roles and played a part in priesthood. As for kings they would rule city- states, so there was never one big ruler there would be a different king for every city-state. As its hard maintaining leadership the kings went to war a lot with other city-states.

Although there were many leaders in the Mayan society a popular king the lead the Mayans to great success was king Pacal II. Pacal was a great architect he had great ideas of buildings for the Mayans.Pacal even helped with the designs and buildings of temples.Later on Chan Bahlum followed in his father's footsteps

There are a lot of possibilities on where the Mayans went, but did anyone ever consider drought? To build their lovely temple, they needed to burn 20 trees just for making 1 square meter of lime plaster. The deforestation made the temperature to go up 3-5 degrees and the rainfall to decrease by 20-30 percent. The drought could have caused less and less crops growing each year, and that means less food for animals as well. So the Mayans did this to themselves, they must have realized that there was less crops growing and decided to separate and find more land they could live off of.…

The climate in the lowlands that the Mayas resided in were known to be unstable. Rainfall quantities could have varied, allowing droughts to be common, and making rains violent when occurring. In pollen records from Yucatán, there was an indication of a dryness between 750 and 850 B.C.E. It is also possible that many of these environmental problems were the effects of deforestation and environmental changes. A drought such as indicated, would have been catastrophically to the Mayas, who had never faced such a problem…

They did other things like religious rituals and developed a complex 'hieroglyphic' writing system used to keep their religious and history events on record. They say by AD 800 , Mayan civilization was in decline and had soon disappeared and the population dispersed into small villages. Although nobody understands why, archaeologists believe it had something to do with how big their population was and it caused cities to be grown so large and over populated. My own theory to this is quite different on the other hand. I think that the cities had such a big population that they ended up catching and spreading a disease, therefore not having many surviving family move out into agriculture…
