William Shakespeare William Shakespeare is considered one of English’s best writers and he impacted the world (Merriman). He’s also praised for his great works (Merriman). Shakespeare combined and contorted roots of Latin and French (“William Shakespeare”). He created thousands of everyday words that way (“William Shakespeare”). Some words are watchdog, stillborn, schoolboy, radiance, leapfrog, hunchbacked, downstairs, dewdrop, courtship, bloodsucking, and birthplace (“William Shakespeare”). Unfortunately, Shakespeare didn’t become famous until later years in his life and even more famous after death (“William Shakespeare”). They were between four categories: histories, tragedies, comedies, and romances. (“William Shakespeare”). Most of his earliest works were histories and comedies (“William Shakespeare”). Many of his histories were written in a series (Merriman). Shakespeare’s histories were based on English kings (Merriman). All, with the exception of three, histories were on King Henry VI, IV, V or VIII (Merriman). Some of his tragedies are reworking base on Roman or English history (Merriman). Shakespeare is best known from his tragedies: Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, Julius Ceasar, King Lear, Macbeth, and Othello (“William Shakespeare”). One of his most famous most famous works is a tragedy (Merriman). Romeo and Juliet, played in 1594-95 and printed in 1597 (Merriman). Romeo and Juliet was actually his second tragedy (Merriman). Only a small percentage of Shakespeare’s plays were actually published during his lifetime (“William Shakespeare”). Shakespeare is well known for his many great works. As you can see, his life isn’t well known but his work is. Mostly is tragedies are known, however, his poetry and histories are famous too. I believe we could all become great writers with the help of
