American Society. My mom had to play a more active important role in women’s suffrage and rights, by protesting and going to the factory.
The war changed the economical balance of the world!
It left European countries in debt and made the U.S. the leading industrial power and creditor in the world. America’s factories and countryside’s were unharmed and performed better. World War I quickly led to the industrial production which then led to an economic boom throughout the Roaring Twenties. This led to my mom getting more money from the factory. I read that four European empires disappeared after World War I such as: The German, Russian, Ottoman, and the Astro-Hungarian Empires. They increased freedom for citizens resulting in no absolute leader. Several new independent countries formed including Poland, Finland, Yugoslavia, and
Czechoslovakia.
A lot of women went into jobs that the men used to do before they went to war, leaving the elder siblings to take care of the younger siblings, just like me.
Many devastating things happening during the war. I felt sorry hearing that the total number of civilian causalities were 18 million deaths and 23 million wounded, which made it one of the deadliest wars in history. Thankfully my dad had only a few injuries. My dad used to send me letters about World War I’s devastating experience for France, Russia, U.K. and Germany. Germany had an economic depression due to heavy fines, combined with the bad economic infrastructure.
The effects of World War I made mass destruction of cities and long-lasting effects of the country’s economy. The war had negative consequences on infrastructure, public health, and social order. In my opinion, the most negative effect of World War I is that it may lead to another world war, where Germany will most likely want for revenge.
This war had some pros but for the most there were many drawbacks. I hope to receive a letter back on what you’ve learned.
