leader.
The U.S could have prevented this punishment of Germany by joining the League of Nations, and arguing for better terms, but the U.S did not because they only cared for their own issues. Germany later became convinced that Hitler would rebuild their country, resulting in the Nazi party becoming very powerful, and a threat to surrounding countries. The U.S could have given up their isolationism policy, and joined the Allies to stop Hitler. As well as spreading anti-Nazi propaganda and teaching democracy. The U.S decided not to do this because of the depression that was occurring, and Roosevelt did not want to become involved in the war. The Munich agreement encouraged Hitler to take more land and spread militarism. Neville Chamberlain should have stopped Hitler in his tracks, and gathered Allies to defend Poland, as well
as weaker countries. This did not happen because many countries started to give in to Hitler due to his power and army of Nazis. Lastly, the bombing of Pearl harbor, and the United states finally entering the War. The U.S was selfish and maintained the Isolationism policy to protect themselves, but while the war was raging in Europe, the U.S realized that they were not safe until it was over. Japan believed in imperialism, and no countries did anything to stop Japan’s violence or conquering of weaker nations. The U.S. and the Allies could have stopped Hitler much earlier in his effort to become a dictator. These Nations were selfish and scared; caught up in their own depression. These countries believed that giving Hitler what he wanted would stop his violent conquering, and this obviously was not effective. Coming together, and forming an alliance, would have stopped the Nazis before the death of millions. The Treaty of Versailles could have been changed if the U.S only fought for better terms, so Germany wouldn’t be so vulnerable to dictatorship. In conclusion there could have been many steps taken to prevent World War II.
