How Does Bancroft Affect The Environment

How do we affect the environment? Everywhere you go what is the one thing you always see? Trash. It is everywhere, at the park, on the streets, and on the freeways. Terri Swearingen once said “We are living on this planet as if we had another one to go to.” This quote stood out to me because it made me realize how much we are affecting the environment. It also made me wonder “How is Bancroft affecting the environment?” From what I see, I believe that Bancroft has a good effect on the environment because they inform students about how they are affecting the environment and they inspire students to help the environment. Bancroft as a good effect on the climate because they educate their students. In other words Bancroft teaches students
To clarify Bancroft encourages students to recycle, to help do beach clean ups, and join clubs the help the environment. For example all most every morning a club called “Green Team”, goes into each classroom at Bancroft to collect all the recycling. “Green Team” is a club about staying “Green.” At lunch the students who are apart of Green Team separates the trash for the recycling. Also students from student council come in each classroom to tell the students when we are going to have our “Yearly Beach Clean Up”. There are also posters all are the school that encourages students to recycle and to save energy. Informing students about how Green Team helps Bancroft and how helping participate in the beach clean up can help save animals can inspire students to help the environment and to see how important it really is. Encouraging students to recycle is also important because it will make students realize how helpful and important recycling is to the
Bancroft wastes a lot of materials. They use a lot of paper for every student that goes to Bancroft which is cutting down a lot of trees that clean the atmosphere. They also create a lot of Carbon Dioxide from driving to school everyday. Even though they do this they have found ways to solve these problems. Bancroft knows that they use a lot of paper so they recycle and reuse most of it and some teachers and students have started walking or riding their bikes to school now. Evidence that supports my claim is that Green team comes every day in advisory the collect all the paper that is in the recycling box to bring it to Ms. Chavez who takes it to the recycling center. Also Mr. Lawrence comes to school everyday riding his bike. I have also seen students walking or riding their bikes to school. Bancroft tries their best to help the environment and to keep it clean. Even when Bancroft is having a bad effect on the environment they always find ways to solve it so they can help make the environment
