How Does Culture Affect Workers Motivation?
For worker motivation to occur, a worker must feel persuaded that their job is important to both them and others, and hence feel no reluctance in carrying out their job. Given that such large organizations such as hospitals and other public healthcare facilities are fragile because of diversity of peoples working closely together, federal laws complicate this more. The healthcare public sector is to be both a collaborative and service-friendly one. Adaptation from anything similar to new, procedural reforms, is very difficult to implement in this sector due to the presence of culture. CON-Increases budget deficit by 131 billion over ten years. There are many pros and cons, this listed two is just to emphasize how the two sides of each spectrum operate so closely rivalled. The other factors that have pros and cons are not limited to, improved Medicaid and Medicare, Abortion Funding and others. These kinks in reforms affect now the ethical thinking of workers should they make themselves aware of these kinks and catches in these reforms. Reforms affect the culture of workers and internal organizations as well as the external economy. The operation of motivation at work depends on the manager and employee but is ultimately at the expense of the employee. According to the article, this “process,” is broken down into two classifications. They are 1) the extent to which workers adopt organizational goals which is called ‘‘will do,’’ and, 2) the extent to which workers effectively mobilize their personal resources to achieve joint goals (‘‘can do’’). The nature of the job and again the culture of the person plays a part in these two parts. There is also the factor of the organization’s culture which is already a challenge for any person from any culture. Each individual has their own values that correspond or conflict with those of the organization. Based on the paper, organizational culture is the most concrete aspect of organizational factors. It has a tremendous impact on organizational function and worker motivation is well recognized.
