However these words actually describe two different concepts. leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organisation in a way that makes it cohesive and coherent. In other words, it is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. management is the process of working with people and resource to accomplish the goals of an organisation. Management controls and directs people and resources according to principles or values that have already been established. leaders and managers are very similar in role responsibilities, yet have subtle differences. both role are instrumental in building strong teams of employees and they compliment each other as they work towards the same goals.over the last decades, lots of studies have been carried out to fine line between these two concepts and notable differences have been noted. one of the main difference is that a leader leads from the front. His language will be like come let us do the work. On the other hand manager believes in planning and coordinating the work. He uses management techniques to manage others. Followers voluntarily follow the leader. This may not be the case with managers. Subordinates is been asked to obey the instruction of the manager due to his position. The subordinates may be obeying the manager on his leadership skills or may be just as it is part of their duty. It is also common the subordinates dislike the manager and still follows his action to save his or her job. A leader has his interest common to the followers.
