How Does Livonia Affect My Life
My whole life I have lived in Livonia, NY, a small town consisting of close to 8,000 people. A brick building with a mural of a cow painted on it reads, “Livonia...a breath of fresh air”. I have lived here for almost eighteen years now and I am ready for a new experience. I have worked hard academically, trying to maintain a ninety or above average as best as I can. Now that college is close, I work even harder wanting to get out of the small town atmosphere. I am driven to continue my education so I can succeed farther and make my dreams reality. Some students in my graduating class say they don't want to go to college, or they want to go for the wrong reasons. That is not me; I wish to get the most out of a college experience, being a student first and receiving an education to build my future. Secondly, I wish to be exposed to thousands of new people and opportunities I couldn't fathom before I left little Livonia.

Growing up, I would see what they did to get them in trouble or rewarded. Today, I base a lot of my decisions off of consequences from their life or from the advice they give from their experiences. My siblings are all between ten and eighteen years older than me, which caused me to want to mature quicker. I wanted to spend time with them without being annoying and I wanted to be just like them. Because of maturing somewhat earlier than the rest of the students in my grade, I have made an impact helping others with their personal problems, and being a leader on my volleyball team as a captain. The advice or influence I had on my peers are due to my siblings influence on me. Because they are all so much older than me, I tend to base my viewpoints or outlooks on what they have to say. By going to a University I hope to become more of an individual, making my own mark and finding out what I think about the current world
