How Does The Government Regulate

The government does not properly regulate media there is so much exposed to the world and it influence can have a negative reaction. On the flip side because there trying to keep up with the society more things are over looked. Like discussed in class, obscene things weren’t allowed or blatantly displayed in the past as they are now. It’s all moving to a more open society and the government is regulating accordingly. Because times have changed from just television, news, newspapers and radio to social media apps, internet and other technical ways to get news, information, and entertainment, the government is regulating the best they can.

Media should not regulate, because media is a major source where people get information, news, and entertainment and it shouldn’t be watered down or filtered. While things people put out may be explicit, races and downright uncalled for people have to right to do that as long as it’s not displaying a real harmful act. People should be their own censors if it’s should you don’t like don’t watch or join the media world. Media is too broad to monitor, that’s why it should be an in home thing parents monitor kids and they later make their own decision on the matter. If media were monitor we weren’t get the whole truth about anything, life lessons and much more is learn through media.
Social media it’s there information lightning fast, as soon as it happens someone can post it. Traditional media you may have to wait for the news to report it or them newspaper to print it which could take time. In both they should different first Amendment protection that way people on social media would thing before they post and release information about themselves or others.
